ARA
Ara is typically courteous, yet not quite kind, more focused on completing whatever task she has rather than forging relationships. She does not hold any sort of malice towards others and certainly does not desire to hurt without necessity, in fact enjoying being in friendly company. It is simply that she does not need companionship as much as most others, and her constant travel means she would rather not get too attached to those she knows she will soon abandon.
Often preoccupied with carrying out the will of the gods, Ara does not go out of her way to be a good person, but will help others if it does not interfere with anything important, even if it highly inconveniences her. Being accustomed to death and suffering does not mean she wishes any more of it to exist within the world.

Abandoned at birth, Ara was taken in as a baby by Mother, an ancient being of the deep sea. Mother shared her divine power with their new child, morphing Ara's body to survive in the depths, skin darkening to blend in with the dark envirnment and fins sprouting to glide through watery ravines.
Being parented by an ancient beings, Ara grew up regularly communicating with other divine and timeless beings. With the deities confined to their own planes of existence with limited access to the mortal realm, Ara was able to earn gifts through helping the gods deliver messages and blessings to their followers, Ara eventually bidding goodbye to Mother to travel the world, fulfilling prophecies and smiting down heretics.
Travelling throughout the mortal plane, and even other realms of existence on occasion, Ara faithfully takes upon the role of holy messenger, carrying out the will of higher beings upon the world. Of course, she does not do it simply for their sake. Like with any occupation, she recieves compensation. Whether it be fine fabrics, magical blessing, riches or any other manner of payment, if the offer is deemed acceptable, Ara will fulfill the request. Someday, she is sure, her mortal body will give way to unleash a new god.
Divine ancient being and Ara's adoptive parent, Mother actually goes by many titles. Though her worshippers are few and her power weak compared to the gods of the astral plane, she is still an incredible force of nature, rivalling the most grand of mountains in size and having to only move in the most practiced of elegant ways to not cause unstoppable waves with the slightest twitch.
The mass of tentacles that live within Ara's hair have their own semi-sentience. Too weak and unruly for combat, they are still highly intimidating when agitated, and are useful when hunting, being able to strike out and catch fish alongside other creatures.
